SE-ENN with Arabic writing?

Inläggav hananc » 11 nov 2019, 11:50

Hello,

In this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjL3WMaO9qc&feature=youtu.be&t=500 (Forestry in Sweden 1969) I was surprised to see a plane with Arabic writing. It says "Sterner Aero - Sweden".

Does anyone know why is the Arabic writing there?

Thanks,

Hanan Cohen

Once Sterner Aero was a significant operator of aircraft for pesticide control and fertilization in for the farming and forest business, not only within the borders of Sweden.

A previous employee remembers in a daily newspaper: Om vintern kunde vi dra med stor besättning och 4-5 flygplan till Sudan och spruta mot gräshoppor. (Wintertime a large bunch of us migrated with 4-5 planes to Sudan to fight locusts"

Company history from a "helicopter perspective": http://www.nordicrotors.com/company/Sterner+Aero.

In the video I noted the Snow Commander SE-ENM: There may be others; I noted somewhere that the company has operated maybe 20 Snow Commanders and also Piper Pawnees and a Grumman type. and later also helicopters

SE-ENN can be seen here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8035&p=29119&hilit=se+enn#p29119 Note that it was sold to Israel! (Together with a further 8.)

Here is a text from one of the leading Swedish newspapers about "the second Sudan expedition departure" in early autumn 1966. I hope that the text can be made readable by appropriate clicking on your control "buttons".
