A very delicate questions, but we must remember that not so long ago we asked the questions, Flight Engineers, who needs them?, Navigators, who needs them?, and Radio operators, who needs them. The Lockheed Constellation had a crew of five in the cockpit. The A380 flies with two!
And who needs train drivers? I have been on trains with no driver. One has to get used to that. After all, a train is only an elevator travelling horizontally.

So, will we get airliners with no pilots one day? It will sound a bit odd when rolling out from the terminal the voice says: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, this is your computer speaking, bla, bla, bla.’ Who needs that? Who pays any attention that that announcement these days?
